But she owed him a favor, and Jared's persuasive charm and sinful masculinity--not to mention his sizzling kisses--were impossible to refuse. Helping Jared meant spending time together publicly, but the private moments they shared made Dana wonder how she'd ever survive this engagement with her heart intact.

A confirmed bachelor, Jared didn't want any of the sticky entanglements that went along with commitment. But the more he got to know his beautiful fake fiancée, the more Jared wondered if their romantic charade might be the real thing after all.

Now's the time to collect
By Ms Toni
"I owe you one." Words spoken out of gratitude by landscape architect Dana Rollins. Little did she know it was a debt that Jared Westmoreland planned to collect in full.

Divorce attorney Jared has witnessed so many happily ever afters turn into disasters. He feels marriage is not for him. But as the oldest of six boys and with the sting of recent marriages of his cousins, the pressure is on. Mother Westmoreland wants a daughter-in-law and grandbabies yesterday! To appease his mother, Jared along with the help of Dana come up with an elaborate plan to pretend to be an engaged couple. But who is fooling who? Will this divorce attorney have a new outlook on marriage?

Ms. Brenda has outdone herself again! I can't wait for some more Westmoreland.

When we practice to deceive....
By The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers
If you are a Brenda Jackson fan such as myself, you're more than likely patiently waiting for Chase Westmoreland's story--well, you will just have to wait.

In her latest addition to the Westmoreland series, Ms. Jackson introduces us to Dana Rollins. Her fiancé, Luther Cord, reneged on their engagement and now he wants the ring back. He has hired the gorgeous high-powered attorney Jared Westmoreland to represent him. Doing what any lawyer is paid to do, Jared convinces Dana that it would be in her best interest if she complies with his client's wishes. Feeling she has made the right decision by giving the ring back, Dana extends Jared an invitation to one day return the favor.

Being the eldest child, Jared's mother expects him to set an example for his other siblings by bringing a guest to his father's and uncle's birthday party. Knowing full well he doesn't have a steady girlfriend, Jared is at a loss on what to do. He runs into Dana and asks her to accompany him to the party. Since she owes him a favor anyway, she says yes. While at the party his eavesdropping mother overhears the word engagement, so naturally she believes that Jared and Dana are engaged. When Jared stops by his parents' house to inform them of the misunderstanding, his father shares with him some devastating news regarding his mother's health. Not wanting to see his mother unhappy, Jared asks Dana if she would just pretend to be his fiancée, but makes it perfectly clear that she would be expected to perform as his fiancée, in every sense of the word. The problem Dana faces is enduring Jared's heated kisses and his many other tantalizing advances.

In true fashion, Ms. Jackson has written a very delightful romance filled story. The novel is well-written with a wonderful storyline, and the well-developed plot makes JARED'S COUNTERFEIT FIANCÉE a splendid read. Whenever I get my hands on a Brenda Jackson novel, I feel like a kid in a candy store. I'm counting the days until the next book in this series, The Chase Is On, is released.

A woman's boots.

They sat on the floor, next to the bed. A fancy curlicue design stitched on smooth chocolate leather trailed to the top of the zippered knee-highs. Seeing them brought a smile to Jackson Worth's lips. He lifted his arms quietly, stretching out while trying not to awaken his sleeping companion. Images invaded his mind of how sexy she'd looked wearing those boots and how turned on he'd been sliding them off her coltish legs. Her short skirt and scoop-necked top had come next, with very little effort on his part, as he recalled.

It didn't make a lick of sense. But he couldn't deny that after taking one look at his sister-in-law's best friend, Sammie Gold, approaching him at the hotel bar last night, with her familiar sweet smile, slender hips swaying and those incredible boots catching the overhead lighting, he'd been thunderstruck with lust.

But Jackson Worth was no fool. There'd be hell to pay for what he'd done. He'd hear it from both his brothers, Clay and Tagg, but the worst of the wrath would come from Callie. Tagg's wife would take his head off and probably threaten to disown him.

Bright sunshine seeped in through the drapes and he closed his eyes, trying to ward off the headache pounding in his skull. The woman beside him on the king-size bed stirred and the scent of jasmine filled the air. Jackson breathed it in, and damn if his sated body didn't react, just from the sweetness.

Never before had he mixed business with pleasure, but this time, he'd outdone himself.

Sammie rolled over and her arm flopped onto his chest, her fingers on his skin, soft and possessive. She murmured something in her sleep that sounded too much like "boot-scooting boogie."

He glanced at the top of her pixie-cut, brown hair with colors of caramel, chestnut and rum blending like those of a rare gem. She was cute but not the kind of woman he usually dated. He winced at how that sounded, even to him.

He hadn't dated her. He'd slept with her.

Yep, Callie wasn't going to be happy when she found out. Without giving Jackson so much as a verbal warning to be on his best behavior, his sister-in-law had asked a favor of him, giving him her full trust.

Sammie's had it rough lately. She's lost her father and her business. Take her under your wing, Jackson. Help her. Please. It means a lot to me.

He'd blown that trust to hell.

Slowly, Sammie lifted her head off the pillow. Disoriented, she peered at him with deep brown eyes. "Jackson?"

"Morning, darlin'."

Her gaze darted around the elegant room. She blinked and refocused, then shook her head to clear it. All the color drained from her face and her eyes grew round as poker chips. She lifted herself up, the covers falling away from her unclothed body. Her breasts appeared, small, round and firm. Jackson silently groaned. If she were any other woman, they'd be halfway to heaven again this morning.

With a gasp, she looked down and grabbed the sheets to her chest. "Oh, no!" She sent him a questioning stare, blinking rapidly. "We didn't."

It wasn't the usual reaction he received from a woman after a night of great sex. "Apparently, we did."

She made an unfeminine groan and searched the room, looking for some sign of familiarity. "Where am I?"

"Paris."

She gulped air and her voice squeaked. "France?"

This was worse than he thought. "Las Vegas."

She collapsed against the back of the bed, her head cushioned by a feather-down pillow that billowed when she landed. She looked up at the ceiling, clutched the covers to her chin and muttered, "How did this happen?"

He was pretty sure it was a rhetorical question, but Jackson had the need to answer her anyway. With his head propped in his hand and elbow braced on the bed, he met her tentative eyes. He gave her the only explanation that would make any sense.

"Boots."

Sammie's muddled brain began to clear and through the haze she remembered coming to Las Vegas for a shoe convention. Her best friend, Callie Worth, had insisted that, because Jackson was in Las Vegas at the same time, she meet with him. Jackson had a good head for business. Jackson could help get her out of the financial mess she was in. Jackson could give her sound advice. Sammie had been robbed by her last boyfriend, an accountant who'd known how to juggle numbers and her heart—before absconding with nearly everything she'd owned.

She'd felt like a gullible idiot to have believed his lies.

She still felt that way, only now she had Jackson Worth to contend with, too.

Ever since her father had died a few months ago, Sammie hadn't made good judgment calls. But this might have been the dumbest thing she'd ever done…sleeping with her best friend's brother-in-law.

She spotted her clothes on the floor. They painted a vivid trail of lust to the bed. Her blouse, her skirt, her bra and her thong panties were strung like drying clothes on the line, one right after the other. A whimper, bordering on panic, rose from her throat. "How much champagne did I drink last night?"

She cringed, waiting for his answer.

He seemed to be calculating in his head. "Not that much…maybe two glasses."

Her mouth dropped open. "I—I don't normally drink. It affects me. I get, uh—"

He sent her a knowing look. "Wild and sexy?"

"Oh, no, did I seduce you?"

A smile caught the corners of his mouth. "It was mutual, Sammie. You don't remember?"

He'd been helpful, that much she remembered. They'd spoken business for half the night at the bar and they'd had some laughs, too. Then the champagne had arrived. After the first glass, she'd been fine, but she should have stopped at one. Having two glasses of the good stuff, with her sensitivity to alcohol and her slight frame…well, she should have known better.

Sammie had traveled from Boston a few months ago to attend Callie's wedding and had met Jackson then. They'd had several conversations and had developed a cordial friendship. He was devastating to look at. Gorgeous with a capital G. He was so out of her league that she'd never entertained thoughts of being anything more than casual friends.

She glanced at the silk sheets, the expensive room and the man who was probably buck-ass naked under the covers beside her. Somewhere between the elevator ride up to the room and Jackson peeling off her boots, her mind went a little fuzzy.

Oh, boy. "Not really. I don't remember…much." She sighed. "I shouldn't have had that second glass of champagne."

Jackson stroked her arm, his finger making circles just above her elbow. She trembled from his touch. A jolt of throbbing heat pulsed between her thighs and her memory cleared for a second. She remembered something.. .how her body reacted when he touched her. "It's a little late for that confession."

He was right. Last night at the bar she'd thrown caution to the wind. Tired of being Miss Goody Two-shoes, the bridesmaid and never the bride, and tired of denying that Jackson Worth was the sexiest man she'd ever laid eyes on, she'd done something totally out of character. She'd wrapped herself around Jackson on the dance floor and kissed him. He must have thought her needy and pathetic. "Th-that's me, always late to the party."

"Sammie," he said, his rasp deep and low enough to remind her how much she was missing out on by not remembering last night, "just so we're straight—you wanted to be at the party."

"I, uh…I know." What woman in her right mind wouldn't want to be?

She squeezed her eyes shut. She should have been more cautious. She blamed her behavior on losing her father and her business in a short span of time. But getting real with herself meant facing the truth. Last night she'd needed an ego boost and broad-shouldered, blue-eyed, sandy-haired hunk Jackson Worth was just the man to lift her out of the dumps. Not only was he an eyeful, but he'd been sweet, helpful and attentive. The combination had been irresistible.

Sleeping with Jackson was a stupid move—but not remembering all of it? Now that was just plain wrong. She was experiencing the guilt without as much as a hot spicy memory to go along with it. Now, she'd never know. And there would be no repeats of last night.

Yesterday she'd gone to the annual shoe convention hoping to muster some interest in her failing business. The economy was slumping and only the stronger companies were surviving. No one was interested in infusing capital in her small, unique boutique.

No one…except Jackson Worth.

Then it dawned on her. Her head spun and her eyes widened with realization. "Oh, my goodness, Jackson. We're… partners.."

Jackson's mouth quirked with a quizzical smile, then he sighed deeply. "We made a deal before the champagne arrived, darlin'. You signed on the dotted line. Boot Barrage is now half mine."

Sammie lay in bed, her head cushioned on the pillow, listening to the crank of the faucet being turned on in the next room. The rush of water filled her ears and as the shower door opened then closed with a definite click, she didn't have to imagine what Jackson Worth looked like in the buff. No, five minutes ago he'd bounded off the bed in his birthday suit, beautifully tan, with the greatest backside she'd ever seen on a guy, and sauntered toward the bathroom.

"You sure you don't want to go first?" he'd asked.

She'd crawled farther under the sheets, shaking her head.

"No, you go first. I'd rather wait." Now she lay on the bed, her pulse pounding in her ears. For a girl who'd wanted to make a fresh start on a new life, she'd really put her foot in it. Among other things.

Sweet heaven.

A tremble erupted throughout her ...

Sexy, interesting story. Great characters!
By Miranda Owen
At the opening of the book, it's the morning after Jackson Worth and Sammie Gold had a one night stand in Las Vegas. You are able to get the story of how that came about through his point of view and hers. Jackson Worth is a cowboy and a suave businessman. He has strong family ties and is generally a nice guy. Sammie Gold had a successful boot shop in a different state, but her boyfriend ended up stealing from her and caused her business to sink. Sammie's best friend is married to Jackson's brother. The friend asked Jackson to look after Sammie and encouraged them to become business partners since Jackson has more money than he knows what to do with. So now Sammie's boot shop is located in Arizona. They had the one night stand in Vegas because they were both there for a business convention. Sammie had a little too much to drink so she doesn't have a good memory of their night together. The morning after, she and Jackson decide to put it behind them and pretend it never happened. However, they both can't stop thinking about it. Jackson almost has a fetish about the different sexy boots Sammie wears, but he soon is attracted by her personality as well. It's because he was burned in the past by a former love that keeps him from recognizing and acting on his feelings for Sammie. Although the details of their last intimate encounter are a little hazy, Sammie knows that she finds Jackson super attractive, and the more she finds out about him and gets to know him, her attraction just quadruples. They also end up spending a lot of time together because of family connections, and because Jackson is a very involved and helpful business partner. Throughout the book the two of them keep breaking their pact not to get intimate again. They find the attraction between them too strong and that they just like spending time together. This was a sexy story with good characters.

This is not the first book by Charlene Sands that I have read, nor will it be the last! Ms. Sands has an absolutely amazing talent that hooks me with her well thought out plot lines, her sweet, heart-capturing characters and passion that sizzles off the pages! Her cowboys are oh-la-la sexy and the heroines are lovable. I love turning the pages of these stories and feeling like I’ve come home.

WORTH THE RISK is a charming, passion-filled story of heartbreak, business partners and healing. Sammie is a beautiful heroine whose past life has left her with practically nothing. Jackson Worth is basically family, after her sister married his brother. To her, that means he’s a no-no. But, when he proves his worth with financial abilities, he’s gonna make the perfect business partner. But that’s it. Nothing more….or so she thought.

Jackson Worth is a sexy hot cowboy who knows his numbers and how to make things become a success. So, after seeing Sammie for the first time when his brother became engaged to her sister, he knew that he would be her friend for the long haul. But, then, after a business arrangement is sealed, will he be worth the risk to her?

Seeing these two overcome their obstacles with the heart and realize their feelings for each other was so much fun! From the sizzling start to the whopping ending, Ms. Sands has created another fabulous book that is on my forever read list! I can’t wait to read more by this absolutely amazing author! Well done, Ms. Sands!

For Beverley fans only, I'm sorry to say
By IamaReader
Jo Beverley's story leads this anthology and it was the only story I liked. Joan and her "too perfect" hero are wonderfully written and very likable. Joan has this problem, you see, she can't keep her opinions to herself as a proper maiden should and Edmund has had too many people toading up to him----how could they not connect? Ms. Beverley is a fine author and this small gem is another example of her fine skill. I only wish the other two stories in some way matched, but I can not say I liked either one. Ms Moore's story suffered from being too predictable in format, but unbelievable in content. I don't think the hero/heroine would ever have met or fallen in love. Ms Simmons has delighted me in the past, however not in this story. I did not like her hero. I felt he was too old for the heroine and the addition of his family of grown sons made it worse for my sensibilities. If you are not opposed to the plot points, yuo may enjoy this story more than I did. It is well written just not to my taste.

Three Superb Short Stories
By M. Rondeau
I bought this book because I absolutely LOVE Jo Beverley and I was not disappointed with "The Wise Virgin". The case of mistaken identity but finding true love amidst such problems of long time bitter feuds. I really shed a few tears on this one, as to the poignant way Ms. Beverley fleshed out her characters. She makes me laugh and she makes me cry. So sensual in such a short story, it was a pure Beverley delight.
I was very much impressed with "The Vagabond Knight" by Margaret Moore, as well. Here you had two wounded souls both past the fresh dew of youth, older and hopefully wiser, but both carrying baggage. I cried for these two as well as laughed as some of the dialog, and shed tears of joy at the end. I felt she dealt well with giving both a history and tieing it up quite nicely in the end.
The "Unexpected Guest", by Deborah Simmons, again was a wonderful short story. Being able to flesh out so many characters this well in so short a story time is the mark of a very accomplished author. I was so impressed with this story, that I plan to look into other novels by this author to pick up more works on the de Burgh family.
As a rule, I dont like anthology novels and much prefer the meatier stories, but this was excellent. A keeper to reread around the holidays!

Sweet Revenge: One Man's Love\With No Regrets (Hqn), by Lisa Jackson

Two classic tales of dangerous secrets and the love that overcomes them from #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Lisa Jackson.

One Man's Love

Stacey Monroe made it a rule not to get personally involved with any of her patients—and certainly not with their fathers! But when Nathan Sloan brought his daughter in to see her, Stacey fell in love with both of them almost immediately. But Nathan was a man with many secrets—secrets that might put Stacey in danger….

With No Regrets

As far as cynical attorney Jake McGowan was concerned, he couldn't have much sympathy for a woman who'd chosen to marry his filthy-rich sworn enemy. He would represent Kimberly Bennett in her desperate child-custody battle, but he'd steer clear of both her and her little girl's beseeching blue eyes. Degree by slow degree, Kim felt Jake warm toward her little family's plight, but she still couldn't shake the feeling that he was keeping something from her.

Nathan Sloan raced back into the house and reached the phone by the third ring. He called to his daughter through the screen door, which he hadn't bothered to close. "Cindy, wait for me in the yard! I'll be right there." With an impatient curse, he turned his attention to the phone. "Hello?" he called into the mouthpiece, but there was no answer. "Is someone there?" Irritation gave way to dread. His heart began to pound irregularly, and he tried to listen for any sound that would give away the caller. "Hello? Who is this?" he demanded. Nothing.

"Hello! Can you hear me?" He waited, his palms beginning to sweat. "Dammit!" Slamming the receiver back into the cradle, he hurried out of the cottage to find that his daughter hadn't bothered to wait for him. "Cindy?"

Maybe the phone call was a trap.

Someone could have been watching the house, called from a remote phone and snatched Cindy. His jaw tightened; a quea-siness gripped his gut. "Cindy!" He glanced quickly around the yard, but she wasn't anywhere to be seen.

"Get a hold of yourself. No one knows you're here—only Barbara," he muttered as he ran to the steps leading down to the beach and spotted his child on the white sand.

"Thank God," he whispered, leaning against the sun-bleached rail. His shoulders slumped in relief, and he squinted into the late afternoon sun.

Not far from Cindy was the woman he had hoped to meet for several days, a woman who might be able to help him, a woman by the name of Anastasia Monroe.

Nathan had studied her from a distance, noting the wild disarray of the honey-colored hair that tumbled down her back in soft curls, the smooth slope of her shoulders and the gentle curves of her body, undisguised by her casual clothes.

For the past three days he'd been watching her, wondering how to approach her and, unfortunately, he'd fantasized about her as well, sometimes lying awake at night until all hours of the morning just thinking about her and wondering why she affected him so strongly and deeply. He'd imagined the way her skin would taste, the widening of her eyes as he kissed her, the feel of her lips and the warmth of her body heated with passion. Why? The forbidden fruit, he'd rationalized.

Now as he watched her, the wind lifted her wild hair away from her face and wrapped her sundress around her slim legs.

He experienced the same seed of desire that had made his nights unbearable. "Dammit, Sloan, you're letting all this get to you and acting like some horny teenager to boot," he grumbled, but the dull ache of desire raced through his blood, firing a response in his loins just the same.

The woman walking on the beach, Anastasia Monroe, or Stacey as she preferred to be called, was the last woman in the world he could trust with his secret. To become involved with her would be the biggest mistake of his life. He kept reminding himself of those annoying facts as he descended the worn staircase.

The sand felt cool beneath her bare feet as Stacey walked near the ocean's edge, her eyes scanning the tide pools for various treasures that would inspire her young students. She spied a scurrying fiddler crab and carefully captured him with her fingers before dropping him into the bucket of water swinging from her left hand. "I'll make you a star," she promised with a slightly off center smile as the crab lifted his pincers threateningly.

Stacey laughed to herself. "Don't worry," she said. "I'll set you free in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime, fella, you're going to earn your keep."

She continued to walk along the rocky coast of the island as she studied the shimmering pools and squinted at the reflection of the sun on the water. Her feet were callused from two months of beachcombing, and she was so intent in her search of the tide pools that she barely noticed that the hem of her sundress was wet.

"Here we go," she murmured to herself, as she bent down again and this time retrieved a delicate salmon-colored starfish, examined it and dropped it into the oversized bucket.

The sun was warm against her back, and the breeze lifting the sun-bleached strands of hair from her face and shoulders felt good against the bare skin of her arms and legs. As most of the afternoon had already slipped away, Stacey decided it was time to hike back to her cottage near the school where she taught. Thinking of her students, she smiled. So many of them had come so far, overcome so many problems….

She stopped suddenly, and the water sloshed in the bucket as she saw the little girl, all alone on the deserted beach. The blond-headed child hadn't noticed her, so intent was she on digging in the sand. Stacey quickly glanced up and down the beach for the mother, aunt, older brother, babysitter or any other kind of guardian who was responsible for the tousle-headed little girl.

Concerned, Stacey walked up to the child. "Hi," she said with a cheery smile meant to disguise her confusion.

No response. The girl kept right on digging.

"What's your name?" Stacey persisted while bending on one knee a few feet from the industrious little excavator.

The child ignored her and continued to scoop up wet sand with a bright red shovel.

Stacey tried again. "Where's your mommy?"

The shovel stopped, and the child lifted her head to regard Stacey with large blue eyes that darkened a little. "Don't got a mommy," she said.

Stacey's heart twisted for the beguiling little girl, though she was slightly suspicious of the story. The child was dressed in bright pink shorts and a white ruffled midriff blouse. Identical pink clips kept the gold ringlets out of her eyes. The little girl was no waif. Someone obviously cared about her. So where was the mother?

Again, almost angrily this time, she scanned the beach. Then she noticed the man, a solitary figure running toward her and the child. He was tall and ran with the easy gait of an athlete. His shoulders were wide, but the rest of his body was lean, and he was dressed in faded jeans and a lightweight sweater with the sleeves bunched over his forearms. His worried eyes were deep set, guarded by thick, black brows as they focused upon the child. His square jaw was set rigidly with concern, but the expression on his angular features was a trained calm—the kind that hinted at an inner wariness— and belied any outward sign of emotion.

"Hello," Stacey said, trying to hide her anger as she straightened and offered a forced smile. "Is this your little girl?"

With obvious relief softening his worried expression, the man stopped near the child and reached down to pick her up. "Yes," he admitted. "This is Cindy." He glanced fondly at the girl and kissed her wild blond curls. "Can you say hello to Miss—"

"Monroe. Stacey Monroe." Dear Lord, didn't he realize how dangerous it was for a child to play unattended near the surf? She wiped her sandy palm on the folds of her skirt before extending her hand toward the stranger.

His fingers wrapped around her hand in a gesture of genuine warmth. "Nathan Sloan." A trace of a smile flashed across his tanned face giving his angular features just a hint of boyish charm that was in direct conflict with the cynical creases near the corners of his intense blue eyes.

"It's good to know that someone was looking after Cindy," Stacey said, unable to hide the edge of her voice until she looked again at the child. "And it was nice to meet you."

There was still no response from the little girl. She stared out to sea as if mesmerized, and Stacey began to understand why Cindy's father had let her wander onto the sand where Stacey had been beachcombing. It hadn't been an accident or an oversight on his part. In fact, he'd probably planned it! Stacey's jaw tightened and her eyes grew cold.

"She's…shy," Nathan said as if searching for a better word and Stacey lifted her gaze to meet a secret sadness in his gaze. He looked away and cleared his throat. "And she's also headstrong. We were just leaving the house when the phone rang and she ran off without me." He looked at his daughter in mock anger. "You know you're not supposed to come down here alone."

Cindy ignored her father's disapproval and slid out of his arms. She began digging once again and acted as if the adults weren't present. Stacey knew there was more to Cindy's behavior than timidity. Having worked with disturbed children for eight years, Stacey was able to see the evidence of stress in the small round face.

This Mr. Sloan had probably expected to meet Stacey on the beach. His child hadn't just happened to wander down to the beach alone. Nathan Sloan had arranged it. Stacey couldn't help her anger; the man had used his child, put Cindy in danger, to meet Stacey.

As if reading Stacey's mind, Nathan sighed. "She's difficult to handle sometimes," he said, rubbing his chin and staring at his little girl. Cindy had begun to wander down the beach and was out of earshot.

"Probably inherited, I'd guess."

Nathan frowned and his blue eyes, when he looked up, had taken on a seductive hue.

"Look, Mr. Sloan. I know what's going on here," she said angrily, ignoring his smoldering gaze. "You're trying to enroll Cindy in the private school—that's why you're here—on Sanctity Island. Right?"

Nathan's jaw became rigid, but he didn't deny what was so patently obvious. He nodded tightly as he looked at his child.

"Yes."

"And you hoped that I'd run into Cindy this afternoon." "I'd hoped," he admitted.

"And it didn't matter that it was dangerous to Cindy. She could have wandered out in the ocean before I saw her!"

Nathan's head snapped up. "No way. I was watching her— from over there." He cocked his head in the direction of the stairs. "I'll admit that she did get ahead of me when the phone rang. But I didn't plan to have her come down to the beach alone." His expression tightened. "I would never do anything that might put Cindy in any kind of danger." The wariness in his tone and the guarded look he gave her convinced Stacey.

She crossed her arms over her chest and tried to control her temper. "So why didn't you come into the school?"

"I did. Last week. You weren't in. I didn't want to leave a message because I wanted to meet with you in person."

"So you followed me to the beach." she accused.

More times than you'll ever know, he thought. Chuckling at her irritation, he smiled and once again his face took on a certain boyish charm that touched a forbidden part of her heart. "Nothing that sinister. Really. I just knew that you walked on this stretch in the afternoons and well, I took a chance that you'd be here."

He seemed honest; the concern he felt for his child appeared genuine. But something about his story just didn't ring true. Telling herself she was entirely too suspicious, she asked, "Why did you want me to meet Cindy?"

"Because of her behavior," he admitted. The lines near his mouth deepened. "Cindy became a different person sometime after her mother's death, just over a year ago. At first I thought her reaction was normal. At least I wanted to believe it. To convince myself, I rationalized that even small children grieve. But…" He frowned and rubbed the back of his neck. "But I'm afraid it's more than simple grief. She seems to be getting worse instead of better. She's regressed to the point that sometimes I need help reaching her." Looking past the cresting waves he sighed wearily. "As I said, I visited the school, but the receptionist told me that Oceancrest wasn't accepting any more children and I'd have to put her on a waiting list."

"That's what I understand," Stacey admitted, frowning a little as she studied the child. "You have to realize that I don't make those decisions—I'm just a teacher."

"Not just a teacher," Nathan interrupted. "The best specialist in this part of the country. You've worked with the Edwards Clinic in Boston and did research for Florida State University before you moved here two years ago. From everything I've read, you're the best child psychologist in the Pacific Northwest."

"I don't know about that," Stacey said, blushing as she laughed quietly and shook her head. "I'd like to know where you got your information. It sounds like you've been talking to my aunt."

"It's the truth," he said bluntly.

Stacey held up her hand in protest. "Look, I'm flattered, but I don't think I deserve all the accolades. In fact, I'm sure I don't!"

"Don't sell yourself short."

"Never," she said, laughing.

"I didn't talk to your aunt. You've earned your reputation."

She blushed a little under his compliment and the intensity of his erotic eyes. "Look, I'm just a teacher." "And a damned good one."

Stacey avoided his gaze and studied Cindy as the cherubic-looking child returned to play near her father. Staying within Nathan's reach, Cindy examined a broken shell.

"Some people would disagree with your opinion," Stacey thought aloud, her heart wrenching painfully when she remembered Daniel Brown. How dearly she had loved that little boy…. Clearing her throat and ignoring Nathan's scrutinizing gaze, Stacey pushed aside the anguish and scandal of the past. "We only have one class for preschoolers." Stacey tilted her head upward to meet Nathan's bold stare.

"And you're the teacher."

"Yes."

Nathan gestured in frustration before making a sound of disgust. His muscles flexed with the strain of trusting a woman he barely knew, a woman with beautiful sun-streaked hair and intelligent hazel eyes that seemed to flicker between green and gold. "Look, I don't like asking for anyone's help," he admitted. "And I'm not crazy about having to plead my case to a woman I don't even know, but, in all honesty, I'm at the end of my rope."

"And you don't like it."

His eyes glinted with a savagery born of desperation. "I like to be in control, Miss Monroe. I don't like the feeling that I have to depend upon anyone but myself."

"Including me?"

"Including you."

Stacey glanced at Cindy before returning her gaze to Nathan's rugged face. Behind the thick dark brows, deep-set blue eyes and angular features was a very proud man. Her spine prickled when she looked into his eyes, and she imagined for a moment that he was lying to her, guarding a secret.

"I'm only asking that you work with Cindy for her sake," he pressed. "She needs you." He shifted his gaze to his daughter. "Cindy, would you like to go to Miss Monroe's school?"

The child ignored him.

"Cindy?"

Again, no response. If anything, Cindy was more remote than ever, to the point that she blocked out her father. "Cindy, did you hear me—"

Lisa Jackson is always entertaining and a good read. Would have been nice to know that the book is two separate "short" stories instead of just one.

A s the pickup truck rocked to a halt in front of her family's Colorado cattle-ranch house, Katrina Jacobs started a mental countdown for her return to New York City. In the driver's seat, her brother Travis set the park brake and killed the engine. Katrina pulled up on the silver door handle, releasing the latch and watching the heavy passenger door yawn wide-open. Then she slid gingerly down onto the gravel driveway, catching most of her weight on her right foot to protect her injured left ankle.

A week, she calculated. Two weeks, max. By then she would have done her duty as a daughter and a sibling. Her ankle would be in shape. And she could get back to her ballet company in Manhattan.

Katrina hated Colorado.

Travis retrieved her small suitcase from the truck box. From experience, she knew it would be covered in stubborn grit, just like everything else in Lyndon Valley. She could vacuum it as much as she liked, but the dust would remain.

She wrenched the stiff door shut and started to pick her way across the uneven ground. She'd worn a pair of navy suede Gallean ankle boots, with narrow toes, low heels and kicky little copper chains at the ankles. They topped a pair of skinny black slacks and a shiny silver blouse.

She probably should have gone with sneakers, blue jeans and a cotton shirt, but she couldn't bring herself to traverse both JFK and Denver International looking like a hick. She wasn't often recognized in public, but when she was, people inevitably snapped a picture. Between cell phones and digital cameras, everyone in the world was potential paparazzi.

In his faded blue jeans, soft flannel shirt and scuffed cowboy boots, Travis fell into step beside her. "You want to take Mom and Dad's room?"

"No," she responded a little too quickly. "I'll bunk with Mandy."

Katrina hadn't lived at home full-time since she was ten years old. That summer, with the support of her rather eccentric aunt, she'd enrolled in New York's Upper Cavendar Dramatic Arts Academy, a performing-arts boarding school for girls. Maybe it was because she'd left home so young, but to this day, she was intimidated by her stern, forceful father. His booming voice made her stomach jump, and she was constantly on edge whenever he was around, worried that he'd ask an embarrassing question, mock her career or make note of the fact that she was an all-around inadequate ranch hand.

Her father was away from the ranch right now, having just moved to a rehab center in Houston with a leading-edge stroke recovery program. There he was impressing the staff with his rapid improvement from his recent stroke. Still, the last thing Katrina needed was to be surrounded by his possessions.

"He loves you," said Travis, his voice gentle but his confusion evident. "We all love you."

"And I love you back," she returned breezily, as she took the stairs to the front porch, passing through the door into the cool, dim interior of her childhood home. It was large by ranch house standards, with a big, rather utilitarian entryway. It opened up into a large living room, with banks of bright windows overlooking the river, a redbrick fireplace and enough comfy furniture to hold the family of five children and often guests. The kitchen was spacious and modern, with a giant pantry and a big deck that led down to a rolling lawn. And upstairs, there were six bedrooms, though one had been converted into an office after Katrina had left for good.

She knew love was compulsory. But the truth was, she had nothing in common with the rest of her family. They saw her as some spoiled, fragile princess who couldn't even ride a horse, never mind toss a hay bale or swing an ax straight.

For all that she was a principal dancer in a ballet company that regularly sold out New York City's Emperor's Theater, and that she'd made the cover of Dance America and the Paris Arts Review, in Colorado she'd never be anything but the girl who couldn't make it as a ranch hand.

"Hey there, Kitty-Kat."

Before she could respond to his greeting, her oldest brother, Seth, swooped her up in his strong arms.

"Hi, Seth." Her hug was slightly less enthusiastic. She was embarrassed by the childhood nickname her two brothers had bestowed upon her.

He let her go, and she stepped aside with a determined smile on her face. The smile faltered when she caught sight of a third man behind him. A taller, broader man, with penetrating gray eyes, a grim mouth and what she knew would be callused hands that could probably lift a taxi cab right off the asphalt. Though it had been a few years since she'd seen him, there was no mistaking their neighbor Reed Terrell.

He gave her the slightest of nods. "Katrina."

"Reed," she nodded in return, a fuzzy hitch coursing through her chest. It was trepidation, she told herself, a visceral reaction based mostly on his size and strength and overall rugged appearance.

Just then her sister Mandy burst down the stairs. "Katrina!" she cried, elbowing Seth out of the way and pulling Katrina into her arms.

Katrina hugged her sister tight in return. The next youngest after Katrina, Mandy was the one who had always tried to understand Katrina's passion for dance.

Mandy released her, scanning Katrina from head to toe. "You look gorgeous!"

Katrina knew it was a compliment. But when her family called her pretty, she couldn't seem to help hearing useless. Pretty didn't get you anywhere in Lyndon Valley.

"Thank you," she told her sister, self-consciously smoothing back the wisps of blond hair that had escaped from the twisted knot at the back of her head. Maybe she should have gone with sneakers and blue jeans after all, or perhaps skipped her makeup this morning. She could feel her family sizing her up and finding her frivolous.

"You remember Reed?" Mandy gestured to the big man standing silently in the background.

"Certainly," said Katrina.

Her gaze involuntarily met his again, and a shiver ran through her body, momentarily making her knees go weak. For a woman with a dancer's balance, it was a ridiculous reaction. What was the matter with her?

She tried to drag her gaze from his, but for some reason, it stuck like glue.

"I can't wait for you to meet Caleb again," Mandy rattled on in an excited voice. "You probably don't remember much about him, since he left Lyndon ten years ago."

"I know he's Reed's twin brother," said Katrina.

Reed's nostrils seemed to flare when she uttered his name. The men were fraternal twins, not identical. She remembered Caleb as a smaller, less intimidating version of his brother.

Good thing.

For Mandy's sake.

Katrina caught her sister's expression, and saw that her eyes were sparkling with unadulterated joy.

"Congratulations," she put in belatedly, giving Mandy another tight hug.

"We're thinking of a late-fall wedding. You know, after Dad is up and around again. You'll be a bridesmaid, of course."

"Of course," Katrina forced out a laugh. She wasn't wild about family togetherness. But Mandy loved it, and Katrina wouldn't do anything to mar her sister's big day.

"You'll look so beautiful in a bridesmaid dress."

"It's what I do best," Katrina joked, keeping the smile pasted on her face. For some reason, she darted a look at Reed and saw his eye-roll.

He obviously thought she was being conceited. Fine. Easy for him to judge. She was willing to bet not a single person in his entire life had ever called him useless. Around here, he'd be revered for his strength and his hard work. He didn't have to live with being pretty.

Not that he wasn't attractive. In fact, there was an appealing dignity to his craggy features. His chin might be overly square, and his nose slightly crooked, but his eyes were an intriguing, silver-flecked gray, and his full lips were—

Wait a minute. She gave herself an abrupt mental shake. What on earth was the matter with her? Reed was a tough, hulking, strong-willed cowboy. He could out-macho anyone in Lyndon Valley, and there was nothing even remotely appealing about that.

Since Reed Terrell was alive, conscious and male all at the same time, he had the hots for Mandy's sister Katrina. It didn't mean he had to act on it, and it sure didn't mean he'd succeed even if he tried. Everything about the woman said she was out of his league, from the wispy updo of her wheat-blond hair to her sexy boots, the clingy slacks and shimmering blouse in between.

When he'd met her earlier at the Jacobs ranch, her earrings had been dangling strands of gold, silver and diamonds, while a matching necklace glimmered against her dainty cleavage. She should have looked comically out of place on the ranch, but she didn't. She looked like a princess inspecting the commoners, someone to be revered and admired, then left untouched. Which was exactly what Reed intended to do.

Now he entered the foyer of his own family's ranch house, shutting the door against the gathering dusk, another long day of work behind him. For years, Reed had lived in the spacious, two-story house with his exacting father. Though his father was dead, out of habit, Reed placed his hat on the third hook from the left and straightened the mat beneath his feet. There was a place for everything, and everything was always in its place in the Terrell household. His father had prized practicality, but also quality, so the hardwood floors were clear maple, the furniture was custom-made and the kitchen appliances were top-of-the-line, replaced every ten years.

The outbuildings that housed the cowboys and staff necessary to run the big ranch were also kept in tip-top shape, from the cookhouse to the bunkhouses to the barns and sheds. The line shacks were all getting older, but they were still kept clean and in good repair.

"A Cowboy in Manhattan is hot and hysterical"
By Amazon Customer
Katrina Jacobs never quite fit into her western family's lifestyle. Afraid of horses and chickens she realized early she was an outsider in her own family. Katrina moved to Manhattan to live with her Aunt, and go to a prestigious school for dancing. Now she is a celebrated ballerina. An accident leaves her immobile for a bit and she heads to her Colorado family home to recuperate.

Millionaire Reed Terrell prefers the simple cattle ranching life. He doesn't need the millions he suddenly came into. He is content to work the ranch every day like he has forever. Reed was content until the ballerina princess waltzed into his life. Now all he can think about is the sexy city slicker.

Attraction is swift between Katrina and Reed but how can these opposites ever have a happily ever after? He's all country and she's a city girl. Watch the fireworks explode in A Cowboy in Manhattan.

A Cowboy in Manhattan is hot and hysterical. There are many funny and sexy bits to this fast-paced romance. Katrina and Reed are both carrying around a lot of baggage and it is standing in the way of their happiness. I just love their wicked banter it's so enticing. A Cowboy in Manhattan has plenty of sizzling romance and emotion to grip the reader.

I almost make the same mistake as Reed in thinking Katrina is going to be some pampered simpering girly girl, but she proves us both wrong. She may not like getting dirty, and is clueless about her family's ranch, but I love her energy and candidness. It is fun to watch Reed try to figure her out, because she is about as far from a country girl as you can get. They are feisty and full of life, and I thoroughly encourage you to dive right in.

Great Read

Cowboy, millionaire with sex appeal to boot... where do I sign up?

Ms. Dunlop has written an intriguing romance with this book. The words flow on the pages and I had to know more. The story line comes across in a very matter of fact way. It's like sitting in your kitchen with old friends and listening to them talk about their lives. I felt like I was right there with them, going through the story.

Reed and Katrina are quite the pair. Total opposites. They reminded me of the old Donny and Marie song, "A Little Bit Country." She was very much a city girl. He personifies country manners. Now don't let me get ahead of myself. While I liked the characters, there were things about them that had me scratching my head. Reed is almost too perfect. He knows what to do to make her happy, does it at just the right moment. It's sexy because I could tell he cared and she was his whole world. At the same time he was almost too good to be true. But it wasn't a deal breaker for the story. I still loved him. Katrina has her own ball of originality. There were more than a few times I wanted to bop her over the head. She comes across very snobby and needy at times. For a city girl, I thought she could've used a little more backbone.

Now don't let those small factors be deterrents against this story. Far from it. There's a definite chemistry between Katrina and Reed that jumped from the pages. I rooted for them to get together and stay together. Reading about them realizing what they knew all along was a great journey I'll gladly take again and again.

If you want a book that's a little quirky and packing heat as well as heart, then this is the book for you.

When a dripping-wet female yelled his name, Bronson Dane didn't even try to stop his eyes from roaming over all of her.

With only a short white towel covering her glistening dark, Italian skin, his mother's personal assistant of only six months certainly knew how to catch a man's attention.

"Mr. Dane," she repeated, clutching the towel to her chest with both hands. She'd stopped short as she'd stepped from the bath when she saw him standing at the desk in his mother's adjoining office.

"Formalities are unnecessary when you're only wearing water droplets and a towel. Call me Bronson." He shoved his hands in his pants pockets, thankful he'd shed his jacket because, damn, the temperature just rose at least ten degrees. "Where is my mother and why are you showering in her private bath?"

Wide eyes, nearly as dark as her ebony hair, blinked in rapid succession. "Olivia is gone for the day. I often use the gym, and since I'm working this afternoon, she told me just to freshen up here instead of running back to my guest cottage."

Bronson muttered a curse at his naive mother. It was bad enough Mia Spinelli lived on the Dane estate, but now she was given free rein of the house? Hadn't his mother learned her lesson from the last "loyal" assistant? When would the woman realize she couldn't trust everyone who looked innocent?

This was Hollywood, for pity's sake. Lies and manipulation were as common as breast implants and collagen injections.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Dane. I had no idea anyone would be coming by," Mia continued, squaring her shoulders as if having a conversation wearing only a scrap of terry cloth was normal. "Weren't you supposed to be shooting in Australia until next week?"

"Call me Bronson," he reminded her, gritting his teeth at the floral aroma wafting from the bathroom. "The movie wrapped a week early. I stopped by to talk to my mother about the film festival next week. Did she say when she'd be back?"

"She'll be back later in the afternoon. She's having lunch with her attorney to go over the final contract for her next book." The knuckles on the hand fisting her towel between her breasts turned white as she crossed the room. "If you'll excuse me, I dropped my toiletry bag on the desk chair when I came in because the phone was ringing."

Before she could pass by him, he blocked her and reached for the simple black bag from the leather desk chair. She grabbed for it, but he held the small bag out to the side, away from her grasp.

He didn't trust her, especially since she'd just come off the heels of working for the one man he despised in the industry, Anthony Price. He loathed the man with every fiber of his being. But he certainly didn't want to think about all those reasons now.

His mother had assured him that Mia was "a doll" and completely trustworthy and dependable. His sister, Victoria, had jumped on the Mia bandwagon as well, stating that Mia was such a joy and pleasure to be around. When they'd chatted on the phone last, Victoria had gone so far as to say that she'd instantly clicked with their mother's new assistant.

Granted, Mia had been around for six months, but was that enough time for his mother and sister to be such diehard Mia Spinelli fans?

Bronson wasn't blind, though. Anthony sending his assistant here to snoop was really sinking to a low he never expected.

The rumors of Mia and Anthony's relationship were anything but businesslike. And that irked him even more. The fact his mother had hired Mia while he'd been on location in Australia still grated on him. True, his mother could have any assistant she chose, but why bring in one fresh from his nemesis?

The Hollywood rumor mill had pegged the mesmerizing Mia as the main problem in Anthony's rocky marriage. Whom Mia slept with was none of his concern, but it was his business if she was taking Dane family secrets back to her lover.

Bronson and his mother were secretly working on a huge film that he knew the media would die to get their hands on. He and his mother had worked for years honing this project, and he had no doubt Anthony Price, Hollywood's top director, wanted to know just what the big secret was.

Just because his mother wasn't suspicious didn't mean he'd be letting his guard down any time soon.

Bronson intended to find out just what this conveniently placed assistant's intentions were before she uncovered the script and slid back in between Anthony's sheets with it in hand. The thought of this sexy siren in bed with the devil made his stomach knot up.

He thrust the bag her way because he needed her to get dressed. Whether he trusted her or not had no bearing on matters; she was fresh from the shower smelling of something sexy and floral—her own because that certainly wasn't his mother's scent—and he was having a hard time focusing on the task at hand.

Not to mention that he was not one bit happy with the immediate physical attraction he felt to his enemy's lover.

"Get dressed. We'll talk."

With a slight nod, she turned, crossed the room and entered the still-steamy bath, shutting the door at her back. He had no room on his plate for lustful feelings, and he was a damn fool for even letting them creep into his thoughts. His main concern right now was to keep his mother and his fashion designer sister out of any more scandal.

His mother's last assistant had stolen nearly half a million dollars from Olivia's personal account over the span of several months. The media loved feeding off the Dane name right now, which is why they needed to be a bit more cautious about whom they let into their lives—especially if he had any hopes of keeping this script under wraps.

Was it any wonder his blood pressure had soared since he stepped into his mother's office? Olivia Dane was an icon, and the media would love to get some dirt on her—though he doubted there was any. They had a way of twisting even the innocent to make them look sordid.

Olivia Dane had been Hollywood's sweetheart, had starred in more films than any other female in the industry and had been dubbed the "Grand Dane" years ago. The media loved her. Which is precisely why he needed to keep a close watch on her new assistant.

The bathroom door opened once again and Mia emerged wearing crisp white capris and a black, sleeveless button-down shirt. She had twisted her long dark hair into some sort of knot at the nape of her neck. Her feet were still bare, except for the subtle pink polish on her toes. A simple gold locket lay in the open V of her shirt.

Everything about this woman screamed innocence and simplicity, so how the hell did she end up working for the most glamorous woman in Hollywood?

Olivia had told him how impeccable Mia's credentials were and Mia's reasons for leaving her job with Anthony. Supposedly she didn't want to be the cause of any more rumors and aid in destroying Anthony's marriage.

His mother had said she admired a woman who put others' needs ahead of her own. She assured him the background check also confirmed her initial thoughts—Mia was flawless and perfect for the job.

A background check could easily make a person look good on paper, and Mia had certainly appeared to be innocent as an angel, but Bronson wanted to get to know more about the quiet, subtle Miss Spinelli. The one who, no matter what line she fed his mother, still may be sleeping with—and possibly spying for—his enemy.

And fate had just handed him the perfect opportunity. What better way to get to know someone than a little one-on-one time? With the exotic, sexy ambiance of the Cannes Film Festival next week, how could she resist succumbing to his charms as his escort? He hadn't been dubbed People's Sexiest Man Alive for nothing.

"I have a proposition for you," he told her. "You're traveling to Cannes with my mother. Correct?" Mia nodded.

"There are ceremonies every evening with parties afterward. I want you to escort me to those events."

"Escort you?" she asked, eyes wide. "But I'm only going to work with Olivia, and I hadn't planned on attending any of the evenings' festivities."

He hadn't planned on asking her to be his escort, but he also hadn't planned on his first impression of her covered in iridescent droplets and wearing nothing but a piece of terry cloth. God knows he could invite any woman he knew, but he really didn't want to have to entertain and make sure some diva was properly pampered. This woman, this virtual stranger, would be the ideal companion. He'd been on location nearly the entire time she'd been employed by his mother. He couldn't think of a better venue to get to know Mia than to have her as his "date" for five nights in a row.

"I don't think this is a good idea," Mia said, taking a seat behind his mother's desk and booting up the computer. "I'm pretty busy with Olivia, and I know we'll be working just as hard in Cannes because she's trying to finish this book by midsummer."

Bronson stood on the other side of the desk, watching Mia's delicate, ringless fingers fly over the keyboard. "I assure you, my mother will have no problem with your being my escort. You just worry about getting to the plane on time and packing light. I'll have Victoria ship all the dresses you'll need. She's a whiz in a pinch."

She looked up from the screen, licking her naked lips.

"But why me?"

"Why not you?" he countered, liking this idea more and more.

"I'm just an assistant."

Bronson shrugged. "All the more reason. Unless you don't want to be seen with me because of your recent scandal with your previous employer." He leaned in close and whispered, "Or you have a jealous lover."

Mia's eyes widened. "...

Sexy and in demand Hollywood producer Bronson Dane has had his share of women over the years. But none has caught his eye like his mothers new assistant, Mia Spinelli. Bronson's mother the great actress Olivia Dane is very protective of Mia but Bronson doesn't trust her. Mia used to work for his enemy director Anthony Price.

Mia Spinelli loved her last job as the assistant to director Anthony Price. But the tabloids fabricated an affair making it impossible to work there any longer. She adores her new boss the legendary actress Olivia Dane. Olivia's son makes her feel alive like she has never had before. Bronson asks Mia to be his date during the festivities at Cannes and Mia is enthralled by the city and the man.

Mia and Bronson indulge in one scorching night of passion that has Mia pregnant. Bronson has been burned before by a woman claiming to be carrying his child so he isn't very receptive to being a dad. But Bronson insists on being there for Mia and slowly begins to see that Mia could be what he has been looking for all along.

Caught In The Spotlight takes you into the glamorous world of Hollywood movers and shakers. Bronson and Mia both have their roles in the industry and it plays an important part in their lives. Their chemistry is electric and the consequences of their one night has them both reevaluating what they want in life. Their romance isn't an easy one but they realize anything worth having is worth keeping. Looking forward to the next book in this Hollywood series.

"I could not get enough of Mia and Bronson..."
By mnix
Mia Spinelli left her former assistant job for a Hollywood director because of the false stories the tabloids made up. Now she is working for Hollywood's Grand Dame, famous silver screen legend Olivia Dane. A slight complication in her new job is the boss's son Bronson Dane and his animosity towards her former boss.

Movie mogul Bronson Dane is wary of his mother's new assistant. He believes she may be a plant by her former boss, his nemesis Anthony Price. Bronson can't stand Anthony and he is determined to find out if Mia is on the up and up. Bronson persuades Mia to attend a film festival with him and things are never the same. Lust at first sight could become more if Bronson can learn to trust again. Mia and Bronson are Caught in the Spotlight in this sweet and sentimental romance.

Jules Bennett turns the sexy drama on high in her latest Caught in the Spotlight. The first attention grabbing page will have the reader breezing through the pages of this exciting story. I could not get enough of Mia and Bronson such an unlikely couple yet perfect for each other. Poor Bronson's history isn't great and his baggage is completely messing up his life. Mia is a beautiful and honest woman ready to sooth his heart if he will let her, but he keeps bringing out his dark and damaged side. Bronson can be pretty hurtful during the story. I felt where he was coming from, but boy, did he piss me off at times. However, he was only able to piss me off because I cared so much about these characters. Ms. Bennett's deft pen is swift and stellar. Caught in the Spotlight is a star! I'm looking forward to the next book in the Hollywood series.

Another great book by Jules
By Cindy H
I received a gift copy from the author and also purchased it. After reading other Jules Bennett books I am not disappointed with this one. This is the first book in a series that deals with Hollywood. Mia is our heroine who was rumored to be having an affair with her previous employer. Mia gets a new job as a personal assistant with our hero's mother a famed actress. Our hero Bronson a handsome ladies man is very distrustful of Mia who had worked for a man Bronson does not like. A relationship between Mia and Bronson is filled with glamour, secrets, loyalty, mixed feelings and mistrust (on Bronson's side-having been burnt in the past). This is a book you would not be disappointed in reading.
