From the Author
Dear Readers,
When I was writing THE COWBOY'S CHRISTMAS GIFT, I had a really hard time making sure I didn't give someone too much "screen time". That someone was Amber Solomon, the sweet little daughter of ranch manager Quinn Solomon. I just had to remind myself that Amber and Quinn would be able to share their story in the next book--this one, THE COWBOY'S VALENTINE.
The scenes with Amber seemed to write themselves. In many ways, it took me back a few years to when my own girls were little, with big eyes and gorgeous curls and an innocence that is both beautiful and heartbreaking. You see, Quinn's wife Marie died when Amber was very little, and it changed both of them forever.
Lacey Duggan has some wounds of her own to overcome, and I realized as the story unfolded that Lacey and Quinn and Amber all had the power to help heal each other's wounds. In the end, it was a really rewarding story to write, and one of my favorite Happy Ever Afters.
Happy reading,
Donna

A Cowboy for Valentines
By Kathy Habel
I picked this one up because I'm a sucker for cowboy stories. Harlequin's American Romances tend to focus on the importance of family and community. They are usually fairly clean at least compared to most of the books Harlequin publishes and it had just been Valentine's Day so this title caught my eye.
I ended up really enjoying The Cowboy's Valentine. I didn't realize this was the 2nd book in a series but it worked as a stand alone as the 1st book was about Lacey's brother. There was some back story that was obviously introduced in the first book but enough information was given so I didn't feel lost.
I loved that Quinn tried so hard to be a good father to his daughter Amber. And I loved how he helped Lacey overcome her insecurities and doubts in herself due to the way her marriage ended.
Rating: 4 Stars - Great Book
Content: some language and innuendo and one short sex scene

A Cute V-Day Read.
By Jill
I have still not kicked this addiction to cowboys. I have tried, but I keep going back to the books on my kindle that have "cowboy" in the title. It seemed only fitting that I got to this one before Valentine's Day passed me by!
I really liked the plot of this book. As if I don't find broody cowboys endearing enough, making him a single dad is a sure fire way to get my emotional attention. Quinn was my favorite character- he's loyal, strong, determined, and always puts the need of his little girl first. Which leads me to his daughter, Amber, who is possibly the most adorable child that I've ever read about in my life. I really appreciated the way Alward wrote her, because it seemed genuine. It didn't seem like an adult trying to find a child's voice, which is something I notice more than one would think. And then there's Lacey. I liked her well enough, and I ached for her and her back story. An illness that prevents kids, a messy divorce, no job. It's rough. But towards the end I was really frustrated with her stubbornness to a point where I no longer found it endearing.
I enjoyed watching the relationship between Quinn and Lacey progress from two people who pretty much hate each other to something more than that. There was a nice flow to the story, so it was well-timed and easy to lose yourself in the story for a few chapters at a time. There was drama and humor and sweet romance, and really what more does a girl need from her cowboy Harlequin, hm?
And if I haven't persuaded you yet: this book features a cowboy holding a puppy.
This was a sweet romance that helped to scratch my cowboy itch, and I think fans of contemporary westerns, romance, cowboys, and Harlequin books will enjoy this one. Thanks to Harlequin for my copy in exchange for my honest review.

Lacey and Amber are all great characters that grow and change as the story progresses
By J. Jones
From the minute Lacey met Amber, Quinn Solomon’s daughter, I knew that she was not going to leave Crooked Valley. Of course there was a journey she and Quinn had to make to get to their HEA.
Donna Alward added just the right amount of tension, romance, and problems to the story to keep everything moving. Quinn, Lacey and Amber are all great characters that grow and change as the story progresses. The side characters give an added charm to the story.
The Cowboy's Valentine is just right for Western Romance lovers. It is also a great introduction for those new to Western Romances.
