KILL THE HEDGEHOG!
By L. L. Mills
From the moment she runs over his hedgehog, Liz Radonovic can't quite get handyman and landscaper David Raines out of her mind. As it turns out, the hedgehog is a hedgehog cactus, so she doesn't have the slaughter of an innocent pet on her mind, but she really did react rudely to him-and that isn't like her. So she blends together a batch of one of her special-blend teas and gives it to him in an effort to make peace between them.
David takes the peace offering, but has no intention of getting any closer to Liz, or anyone else-not ever. He can't afford to get close to anyone-he's determined to keep the lowest profile possible, so determined that he left the Witness Protection Program in order to disappear completely off the radar from his old boss, who wants him dead.
Using elements of a Romani gypsy background for the heroine's family, and a whistle-blowing scientist on the run, Salonen brews up a cup of enjoyable Darjeeling the reader will enjoy. Complicating the picture, Liz is trying to adopt a little girl she helped care for in India, an orphan with birth defects she will do anything to make her own.
Her mother's prophecy has foretold that she will have to choose between the man she loves and her child, and she has also unwittingly sent up a red flag that clues David's enemies in to his whereabouts. A story with some predictable elements, the author nevertheless manages to hold reader interest quite well. Recommended.

warm tale
By A Customer
The prophesy that her Rom roots predict for her involve a child of the light and a man of the dark, but that she must select one for she can only save one. Though she ran from her destiny, all she found was a harsh life out there so Liz Radonvic comes home to Vegas since she has chosen to bring light to a little girl she met in India by adopting Preisha, who suffers from a birth defect.
However, before her dreams are answered by the government red tape, she meets gardener David Baines. They are attracted to one another, but she fears he is hiding something from her even as she wonders if she can have him and Preisha that is until he reveals the truth about himself as he is the dark side of that prophecy.
This is a warm tale in which love conquers all. Liz and David are terrific lead characters who fall in love in spite of her belief he is hiding something bad about himself from her. Though there is lighthearted undercurrent starting with David running over her hedgehog cactus, the story line contains a serious theme dealing with adoption especially of children with ailments; readers' hearts will go out to Preisha.

Can David Baines be Liz Radonovic's destiny or is it Prisha?
By Babs Ferret
What a wonderful story of a woman who has giving and caring in her blood. Liz Radonovic is a physical therapist, she's also a healer she hopes to start a business that sells herbs, teas and therapeutic oils to help people feel better. Liz comes from a long line of Romani, Gypsy, healers.
Liz's mother Yetta has given Liz a prophecy of "A man of darkness. A child of light. You'll be able to only save one"
Liz is trying to adopt an little girl with birth defects in India but it will take time and money which are in short supply. Liz has bought a house in Henderson, NV not in the compound with the rest of her family and she's trying to refinance it. The neighborhood association has hired a gardener to beautify the common areas. Liz meets him with a real run-in, he just planted a Echinocereus triglochidiatus and she ran over it!
Liz and David do get much friendlier after she apologizes and wants to pick his brain on her own landscaping. He becomes her knight-errant too. They both do find they want their friendship to go farther but David has a very dark secret that he can't share but in time he has to. Liz & David have some scary moments from David's other life.
This is the 3rd in the Sisters of the Silver Dollar series. We see Grace, Kate and Alex again and share Liz's wonderful story with them and Kate's wedding. Even Yetta and Zeke are in there
