The "First Lady of the West," #1 New York Times bestselling author Linda Lael Miller, cordially invites you to Parable, Montana—where love awaits
Wedding bells are ringing in Parable, Montana, but Brylee Parrish hasn't enjoyed the sound since being jilted at the altar by Hutch Carmody. She's over Hutch now, and running a multimillion-dollar business is challenging enough for this country gal. So she should avoid falling head over boot heels for A-list actor Zane Sutton. He's come home to his rodeo roots, but Hollywood lured him away once and just might again. Yet everything about him, from his easy charm to his concern for his young half brother, seems too genuine to resist….
Zane didn't come to Parable for love—but count on a spirited woman to change a jaded cowboy's mind. Problem is, Brylee's not convinced he's here to stay. Good thing he's determined to prove to her, kiss by kiss, that she's meant to be his bride.

When Hollywood heartthrob Zane Sutton, a onetime rodeo cowboy, decides to walk away from the acting career that doesn’t satisfy him, he goes to a ranch he bought near Parable, Montana. Along the way he picks up a dog from a shelter. Despite fleeing from complications, complications seem to follow him. He meets Brylee Parrish, who has started a million-dollar, job-creating business. Yet, in spite of her success, she can’t get over being jilted at the altar and remains gun-shy as far as romance is concerned. Zane just wants a simple life, but, alas, nothing is simple. Soon, Zane’s falling-apart ranch house is being whipped into shape under the direction of Cleo, the sassy housekeeper he thought he had left behind, and Zane is trying to figure out how to raise his world-weary 12-year-old half brother, who has been abandoned by their dad. Neither Zane nor Brylee can stop thinking about the other. Readers of Robyn Carr and RaeAnne Thayne should enjoy Miller’s latest feel-good book filled with good, caring people. --Diana Tixier Herald

Book Bummer
By Jennifer johnson
I'm not completely sure I would categorize this book as a romance. The book is much more about the town, and the main characters Zane and Brylee as individuals - than a romance between the two. I don't think there are more than 50 lines of dialogue between the two main characters in the entire book. THE ENTIRE BOOK. Really?
I think the description of Zane driving his truck home was 12 pages, more than all the interaction between the primary characters. These characters live inside their own heads way too much.
When Zane meets the man who emotionally hurt Brylee in the past, I wanted him to make a scene, hit him, or yell, but no. It would have spiced this book up a little -and it really needs it.
I struggled to finish, as I felt no connection really to the romance or either character, which is strange for an LLM book. LLM does a fantastic job of setting scenes and describing her characters and location better than most. But in this book, the side-stories seem to be the priority rather than the romance. And this book has so much promise on it's plot - Hollywood boy meets small town girl.
This book contains all the typical LLM characteristics:
Rich - but salt of the earth cowboy - check
Small town good girl- check
Stray dog - check
Stray kid - check
Strong-willed minority housekeeper - check
I've read a lot of LLM books and enjoyed many of them - but her writing is taking too much of a pattern now and is painfully predictable. I'd like a plot twist, or a surprise, and there aren't any here.
Not sure I will spend on another LLM book until her format gets shaken up a bit.

Where's the story?
By Book Lover_1015
The best part of this book, the part between 'The End' and 'Epilogue' was left out! We get to see Zane and Brylee come together (which took FOREVER!), but the six months of them getting to know each other part, the real falling in love part, is skipped. And there were other little stories we missed out on. I felt like the author got bored with all the set up and didn't want to finish the book so she just wound it all up in a couple of sentences, "And oh yeah, they get married, and the kid's guardianship was decided, and the brothers fixed their relationship." Why even bother making the brothers part of the story then, if you're not going to show us the resolution? Even a little backstory would have been nice, like how did Zane, who grew up in the country but not on a ranch, become a rodeo star? And what was the point of making him a movie star on top of that? One or the other would have been more believable! And I totally agree with the other reviewer who wanted Zane to punch Hutch. I wanted some fireworks there!
I've enjoyed this author's contemporary romances before, but I'm not sure I'll take a chance on another one. This was hugely disappointing!
(And on one personally picky note, what is with the men's names in this place? Zane, Landry, Nash, Walker, Boone, Slade, Hutch...isn't there a Dan or a Jack in the whole stupid town?? Baby Preston got off easy here! But maybe that's just me!:))

Big Sky Wedding, A Review for the Blog Tea and Book
By Shauni
What can I say we are back in Parable County.. And I am loving every minute of it! Linda Lael Miller is most definitely the queen of western romance! Her stories are endearing, positive and full of heart. Her characters are individuals who want a HEA and yet have to follow their own paths to find it. Inspiring, positive and a joy to read! (ok all finished gushing)
What makes Parable so special? There are a number of factors that make this series an exceptional one but the ones that capture my attention are..
Family First: Ms Miller connects family members in a wide a varied assortment of ways but she always helps them come together.
Half Brothers antagonists from birth becoming close friends
A step child showing up and ending up living with the hero or heroine or by the end of the book both (this has happened a few times)
A sibling needing a parent due to lack of poor parenting
A child being raised by relatives reunited with his/her parent
Adopt a Pet: In almost every book there is a rag tag dog that needs a home and one of the main characters takes him in. Showing a true concern for pets that may not be the prettiest or have the best pedigree but truly want a home.
Community: In a world where we often do not even know our neighbor's name Parable County is a place where people care about each other, sure they are nosy and in your business but most of it is done with love. They are proud of your success and stand up for you when you stumble. A true home that many of us dream of.
In Big Sky Wedding we see a woman who has lost in love in the most humiliating way. She has struggled with her embarrassment but still lost part of herself, slowly she has been coming out of her funk.. With the help of family and friends she has to learn that there is someone out there just for her.
Zane Sutton grew up poor but loved. His mother worked hard jobs to keep food on the table and to keep her two boys together. He may not have had things but he knew he was loved. When his life as a rodeo cowboy turned into a life as a moviestar life was pretty good but now he is tired of the false life and looking for something solid.
Brylee Parrish was left at the alter.. literally Hutch Carmody knew they didn't fit and stopped the wedding as she walked down the aisle. The right thing to do but seriously the wrong way to do it. Even though Brylee knew Hutch was destined for someone else. Knew that she was in love with love not really with Hutch, Brylee was devastated, mortified and totally and completely humiliated. The healing has taken time and while she is finally ready to maybe come out of her shell, no way is she planning on falling for some movie star who moves to Montana.. I mean how cliche.
Zane has far to go. While Zane has lost his way and just wants to start over.. he finds out his younger half brother has been all but abandoned by their useless father. Troubled and way too street smart, Zane knows this boy needs family so he welcomes him home.
Opal has been busy.. matchmaking for several of the members of the community but now she is a Pastor's wife and not able to help in the same manner but that's ok for Zane because he has Cleo.. I ADORE Cleo a tough as nails not so motherly woman who was his housekeeper in LA and totally takes over the book when she is in it.. A Big Heart and an strong opinion this woman scares poor Nash (Zane's brother) into good behavior..
Brylee is tired of being the 5th wheel in her family. While she has a thriving business and her own apartment on the ranch she grew up on, she knows it's her brother's home.. Walker and Cassidy are raising their children and expanding their family and Brylee wants a family of her own. But it's hard for her to trust.. to believe that Mr Right is out there for her. To trust her growing feelings for Zane.. Honestly who can blame her.
Ms Miller handled their relationship brilliantly, she made us love them before they loved each other! She allowed us to cheer for them and be happy for their choices. And the way she resolved this relationship... Absolutely Brilliant!
Can't wait to hear more from Parable..
