Nepotism at its finest.

I had a hard time with this story. Our hero, Lane, gets screwed over for a promotion by the cousin, Nicolino, of our heroine, Lucy. The cousin even tells Lane if he doesn't like it, he is welcome to hit the road. I don't find that entertaining. So now the ex-girlfriend, Lucy is his boss. She steals his job, uses him, and treats him like dirt. I'm still not entertained. Cousin Nicolino was too ready to dump another employee for Lucy. The only reason I continued to read this book was to find out if Lane ended up with the job he was due and Lucy got a job more fitting to her abilities. The book ended better than I expected, but it was hard getting there.

Long lost loves reunited, but can they be more than just friends?? Love it!!

I have loved everything about this series and this book is no exception! I have grown to love all of Ramblewood and always look forward to more and more!!
This is a tale of long lost love and a second chance at happiness. Fraught with a depth of emotion you can be sure to feel. The heartache and longing, the fear and anger. It has it all.
Lucy is a heartbroken single mother who hasn't a clue what she's going to do next. Alone in Italy with her daughter is not an option so she does the only thing left to do. Go back to Ramblewood, and the only family that will acknowledge her and her daughter. With a position secured as the barn manager she at least has a job and place to stay after her ex-husband died and left them destitute with his insurmountable debt. Seeing Lane brings back all her old memories, and the heartache only she knows about. How will she be able to work beside him?
Lane has had the wind knocked right out of him. The job was his...or so he thought. But that's not even the worst thing. His first love has come back and taken it from him. And left him with a lot of unanswered questions about them. He is angry about it all. But is troubled by the attraction that still seems to be there. And when he meets her daughter and comes to know her, his feelings grow even more.
As these two work together and realize the love that was left behind, will a long hidden secret be more than Lane can forgive?? Can they take a second chance at love or be forever held apart?
